When you create an account, we collect:

  • Password — stored securely using industry-standard hashing (never stored in plain text)
  • Display name — your chosen in-game commander name

2.2 Game Data

As you play, we store game state data including:

  • In-game resources, buildings, fleets, and research progress
  • Battle reports and combat history
  • Chat messages and forum posts
  • Trade routes and alliance memberships
  • Faction selection and game activity timestamps

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect:

  • Session data — authentication tokens stored in cookies for login persistence
  • Usage analytics — aggregated gameplay events (e.g., planets conquered, buildings built) for game balance purposes via Talo (trytalo.com)

We do not collect IP addresses, device fingerprints, precise location data, or use advertising trackers. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your session
  • Provide and operate the game service
  • Store and display your game progress
  • Display leaderboards and player statistics
  • Moderate in-game chat and forums
  • Analyze aggregated gameplay data to improve game balance
  • Communicate important service updates (rare; we do not send marketing emails)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We share limited data with these service providers who help operate the Service:

  • MongoDB Atlas (database hosting) — stores all game and account data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. MongoDB Privacy Policy

  • Talo (game analytics) — receives aggregated gameplay events (not personal data like email) for leaderboards and game statistics. Talo Privacy Policy

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to ensure the safety of our users.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

If you disable cookies in your browser, you will not be able to log in to the Service.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. Game campaign data may be archived when a campaign ends. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — contact us to receive a copy of your stored data
  • Correct inaccurate data — update your display name in-game, or contact us for email changes
  • Delete your account and data — contact us to request permanent deletion
  • Export your data — contact us to receive your data in a portable format

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to restrict processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (never stored in plain text)
  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Database access is restricted and encrypted at rest
  • Authentication tokens are securely managed with httpOnly cookies

However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
